Ecliptic pole scanning has two modes: PRECEDING (revolving phase angle =
0) and FOLLOWING (revolving phase angle = 180 deg). PRECEDING mean that
the spin axis of Gaia precedes the Sun by the solar aspect angle (45 deg)
on the ecliptic.
